I had to run to Pottery Barn yesterday to check out
a couple of rugs my brother and sister-in-law are
interested in for their living room.
I'm helping them re-decorate their downstairs.
I was soooooo close to Amvets that I just had to stop.
You know how it is ...
Look what I found tucked among the
old bed sheets and shower curtains and afghans ...

This D.A.R.L.I.N.G. vintage quit top was marked $4.98.
I was beside myself with pure giddy-ness.
(That's a pretty bad sentence but you get my drift.)

Here she is laid out on my dining room table.
As a lover of vintage fabrics, I'm pretty pleased
with my thrifty purchase.

I'm thinking of asking my mom to teach me how to finish it.
I know very little about quilting but sure appreciate the workmanship.
Someone else must have appreciated the work that went into this
too because it's in lovely, clean condition -
obviously stored carefully for years and years.
What else is new, you ask??
Well, it's COLD outside,
the creek is freezing over with just a band
of water still flowing,
and I'm finally almost over the virus I had.
I didn't get the flu, just a bad respiratory virus.
Yuck.
It's Wednesday and that means pizza with my
parents at our local Italian restaurant.
Tonight my little brother is meeting us to pick up the rug samples.
I love living in the cottage-by-the-creek.
I consider it a huge answer to prayer and a huge blessing.
Stay warm, Friends, and continue to count
your blessings.
That's what I'm striving to do each and every day.
xo,
